An eight-member delegation from the Parliament of Zimbabwe recently visited Ghana to learn from their parliamentary counterparts. Led by the Clerk to Parliament and accompanied by the Zimbabwean Ambassador to Ghana, the delegation met with Dr. Gloria Sarku Kumawu, Deputy Clerk in charge of Information Management Services, to discuss setting up a Parliamentary Training Commission for Zimbabwe.

The visit aimed to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration between the two parliaments, ultimately strengthening African democracies. Discussions focused on effective ways to establish a training commission that would enhance the capacity of Zimbabwean parliamentarians.

This move demonstrates Zimbabwe’s commitment to parliamentary development and its willingness to learn from other African countries. By seeking guidance from Ghana’s Parliament, Zimbabwe aims to create a more robust and effective parliamentary training system, ultimately contributing to the growth of democracy in Africa.
