Ho, Volta Region — October 2025
The 2025 edition of the Asogli Teza Festival unfolded with grandeur and purpose in Ho, as dignitaries, traditional leaders, and citizens gathered to celebrate heritage, unity, and progress. The event was graced by Her Excellency Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, who represented former President John Dramani Mahama. The festival was hosted by His Royal Majesty ,Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of Asogli State.
In a stirring keynote address, the Vice President announced a major government initiative to deploy over 5,000 graduates in Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences to work directly with farmers across the country, including the Volta Region. The move, she explained, is aimed at modernizing extension services, introducing innovative techniques, and bridging the gap between academic research and practical farming.
“The government is committed to mechanization, irrigation, and improved storage infrastructure,” she affirmed, “to reduce post-harvest losses and enhance productivity for our hardworking farmers.”
Volta Regional Minister Hon. James Gunu, who joined the celebration, lauded the Asogli State and Togbe Afede XIV for elevating this year’s Teza Festival to new heights. “This year’s celebration has strengthened social bonds, promoted enterprise, and revitalized tourism in our region,” he remarked.
He further emphasized the Volta Regional Coordinating Council’s dedication to partnering with Traditional Councils to transform cultural festivals into engines of economic growth and community development.
“As we celebrate our heritage,” Hon. Gunu stated, “we must also harness its power to build prosperity. Together, we can make culture not only a source of pride, but a foundation for progress.”
The Asogli Teza Festival continues to serve as a beacon of unity, resilience, and renewal, drawing thousands to the Volta Region and reaffirming the enduring strength of Ghana’s cultural legacy.
