The journalism community has suffered a significant loss with the passing of Ebo Quansah, former President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) and member of the Ghana Journalists Association. Quansah, who served as SWAG’s fifth president from 2001 to 2007, died on June 26, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of dedication to sports journalism in Ghana.
During his tenure, Quansah held various key positions, including Deputy Secretary and Secretary-General, before becoming president. He continued to influence and support the growth of sports media in the country, serving as a patron of SWAG until his demise.
SWAG has expressed its condolences to Quansah’s family, friends, and colleagues, describing him as a committed member who worked tirelessly to promote sports journalism and development in Ghana. Further details on funeral arrangements will be communicated through the family. Quansah’s passing comes days after the death of Mr. Ackah Anthony, the sixth President of SWAG.
