In the Upper West Region, USAID – US Agency for International Development supported NGO SAVE-Ghana to train women from different backgrounds and ethnic groups in soap making.
Bringing these women together to collaborate on a fun activity with economic opportunities fostered a sense of community among them and broke down ethnic prejudices that previously existed.
After the training, the women are collectively raising funds to purchase inputs to sustain their soap making activities. They also continue to work together to foster integration, cultivate unity, and reduce negative stereotypes in their communities.
