The US Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Virginia Palmer, has praised the Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) for its outstanding work in preparing for election monitoring activities and the Parallel Voter Tabulation (PVT). Ambassador Palmer expressed her admiration during a visit to the National Information Center (NIC), where she acknowledged CODEO’s crucial role in promoting Ghana’s democratic processes.
CODEO’s PVT methodology is a powerful tool for ensuring the integrity of elections, particularly in cases of disputes. By deploying observers to a representative sample of polling stations, CODEO is able to provide timely and accurate information on the conduct of voting and counting. This helps to deter possible manipulation and enhance public confidence in the electoral process .
Ambassador Palmer looks forward to collaborating with CODEO to strengthen Ghana’s democratic procedures and share best practices with other countries. Her endorsement is a testament to CODEO’s reputation as a trusted and independent election monitoring organization. With its expertise and commitment to promoting free, fair, and peaceful elections, CODEO continues to play a vital role in Ghana’s democratic development.
