Former President Nana Akufo-Addo and Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin joined the family to bid farewell to the late Ambassador Simon Sonia Puli. This gesture highlights the respect and admiration held for Ambassador Puli’s dedication to Ghana’s diplomatic service.
Ambassador Simon Sonia Puli, a renowned Ghanaian diplomat, has left an indelible mark on Ghana’s foreign affairs landscape. His dedication to Ghana’s diplomatic service spanned over two decades, with notable appointments including Ghana’s Ambassador to Angola and Chief Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Appointed by President Jerry John Rawlings in October 1997, Ambassador Puli worked tirelessly to promote Ghana’s interests abroad, alongside 11 other envoys. His expertise and trustworthiness earned him a spot on the 12-member Ministerial Advisory Board for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration in July 2010.
As Ghana bids farewell to this exceptional public servant, we honor his legacy and contributions to the country’s growth and development. His passing is a significant loss, but his impact on Ghana’s diplomatic landscape will be remembered for years to come. Rest in peace, Ambassador Puli.
