ACCRA, Ghana – The Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry has officially handed over the management of 31 Technology Solution Centers (TSCs) to the GRATIS Foundation, a move aimed at bolstering Ghana’s 24-hour economy drive. The centers, previously under the Rural Enterprise Project (REP), will now be instrumental in driving technological advancement and skills development across the nation.
Speaking at the handover ceremony held at the Elmina TSC, Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Sampson Ahi, emphasized that the transfer aligns with the government’s strategy to empower local industry and enhance productivity through innovation. He stated that these centers are not merely machines but a mandate to lead Ghana’s technological transformation.
Operating in all 16 regions, the TSCs are set to focus on the local fabrication of agro-processing equipment, vocational training, and the integration of emerging technologies. The GRATIS Foundation plans to introduce advanced tools, including Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines, and fortify partnerships with the private sector.
Dr. Isaac Adaebsah, CEO of GRATIS Foundation, pledged to transform the centers into “vibrant engines of innovation, training, and productivity.” Mr. Kwasi Attah-Antwi, National Director of REP, which concludes in December 2025, described the TSCs as “living legacies” of the program. The event saw the attendance of various stakeholders from government institutions, traditional leaders, industry players, and development partners.
