Ho, Ghana — Togbe Afede XIV, the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, presided as Chairman over the Grand Durbar celebrating Mawuli School’s 75th Anniversary in Ho, delivering a compelling message on the future of education and the school’s financial stability. The revered traditional leader stressed that education must move beyond mere classroom instruction to “liberate the minds” of young people, equipping them with the creative, innovative, and problem-solving skills necessary for the modern world. He articulated a vision of true education that empowers the “head, the heart, and the hand,” shaping individuals who think deeply, act purposefully, and serve humanity with compassion.

Addressing the students, Togbe Afede XIV urged them to strive for excellence, embrace hard work, discipline, and commitment, reminding them that learning is a lifelong journey. He also highlighted the critical need for young people to cultivate self-confidence and independence to make a significant global impact.

Furthermore, the Agbogbomefia used the platform to re-emphasize the importance of establishing and sustaining an endowment fund to bolster the school’s financial requirements. Recalling an earlier contribution, he called on all OMSU members and stakeholders to join efforts in strengthening the fund for Mawuli School’s continued growth and development.

Demonstrating his commitment, Togbe Afede XIV made a personal donation of GH¢20,000 to the fund. He concluded by expressing gratitude to all alumni for upholding the school’s legacy, whose achievements stand as a powerful testament to the transformative power of education.
