“An eye for an eye will only make us all blind.” This timeless wisdom holds true, even in the realm of political appointments. While it may be tempting for the appointing authority to dismiss everyone employed by the NPP government, the extreme partisanship and nation-wrecking mentality of our opponents make it challenging to retain some individuals, especially those in sensitive positions.
Our democracy is still in its infancy, and it will take years to achieve the level of maturity seen in countries like the UK, France, and Germany. I deliberately exclude the USA from this comparison, as we have witnessed how Donald Trump handled appointees from the Joe Biden administration when he felt he couldn’t work with them.
Leaving certain individuals in their positions could jeopardize our 2028 victory, as they may sabotage the government of the day. For those newly appointed who are perceived as NPP sympathizers, one must question the due diligence behind their selection. Who recommended them? How loyal are these recommenders to the party?
Could it be that our financiers are behind these recommendations? Many financiers, especially contractors, maintain relationships with both parties to ensure their survival, regardless of who is in power. How can we be certain that those they recommend are not moles for our opponents? These questions and more demand answers.
As we patiently await our green letters, it is clear that not everyone can be appointed to office in the next four years. However, as comrades, we can employ the ANAS principle to protect our government by exposing any wrongdoing we encounter.
For those of us with some level of education, let us use our knowledge and intellect to safeguard the power we have fought for over the past eight years. Remember, it is better to be an errand boy in government than the general secretary of a party in opposition.
A word to the wise is always enough.
