The first Ghanaian immigrant Church in Chicago, The Church Of The Ghanaian Community, COGCC, is 35 years old this month. It was all joyfulness as members of the oldest Ghanaian church in the Chicago area sang and danced to melodious tunes, praising their maker for sustaining them throughout these past years.
The church does not forget its roots, as it is always involved in the development projects in Ghana. Over the years, it has donated school supplies, tables, chairs, and money to institutions in Ghana.
Delivering the anniversary message, Apostle Bright Sosu spoke about “The Power of Thanksgiving” and stressed the need to thank God for what He has done for us as a church and as individuals. He noted that God looks forward to our Thanksgiving and punishes the ungrateful. He reminded the audience that the beautiful thing about Thanksgiving is that it sets us up for God to do more for us.
Every member in attendance was promised a gift of a Bible. The pictures below are for the enjoyment of our worldwide audience.
