Rev. Apostle Bright Sosu, Chairman of The Pentecostal Council of the Ashanti Region and the Ashanti Regional Peace Council member urged Christians, especially the youth, to desire greatness. He made the call while delivering the sermon at the Church of the Ghanaian Community of Chicago’s (COGCC) youth day celebrations and back-to-school church service. He spoke on the Theme, “The Path to Greatness.”

“You will automatically become great if you discover, develop and deplore your gifts, and wealth will chase you, you don’t chase wealth” he advised the audience.

Reverend Dr. Mary Edufah, representing the Ghanaian Council of Churches, stated, “Whatever you need from us, and whatever you think will befit us Ghanaians and as children of the living God, ask us, and we will serve you.” When you want to go fast, you go by yourself, but when you want to go far, you go as a community”.

The community’s legendary emcee and Television Talk Host, Nana Yaw Marfo, informed the congregants that his station is here to serve. He thanked the members of the Ghana Community Church for honoring him with the invitation.

All students in attendance were given free backpacks and cash to buy school supplies.

The Glorious Betson Kids entertained the audience with superb selections of Christian hymns. Emmanuel Betson Jr. and Victor Betson showed their extraordinary violin talent, while their sister, Charis Odarkor Betson, amazed the audience with her skills on the Cello. It was all joy as the congregation sang along with the spirit-filled songs and ministration tunes, praising and thanking their maker.

After Service, attendees were treated to sumptuous Ghanaian foods such as waakye, Omotuo, peanut butter soup, jollof rice, and others.
