Chicago, IL – Members and friends of the Church of Ghanaian community in Chicago gathered at 5500 S. Woodlawn to celebrate a heartwarming and memorable Mother’s Day service. The event was filled with joy, music, and heartfelt messages.
Special Moments
Mrs. Jemimah Betson’s Message:
Mrs. Jemimah Betson, wife of the Resident Pastor, Reverend Emmanuel Betson, delivered her first-ever message to the women and the entire congregation. Her topic, “What To Expect When You Are Expecting,” resonated with everyone present. She emphasized faith, hope, and perseverance during challenging times.
Rev. and Mrs. Yeboah’s Return:
Rev. and Mrs. Yeboah, who had been in Ghana, returned to Chicago with their large and growing family. Their presence added to the sense of unity and family within the church.
Elder Joe Danso’s Testimony:
While visiting Ghana, Elder Joe Danso shared a powerful testimony of God’s help during difficult moments. His words touched hearts and reminded everyone of the importance of faith and reliance on a higher power during difficult times.
Charis Betson’s Viola Solo:
Charis Betson, a talented musician, graced the congregation with a beautiful viola solo. Her performance uplifted spirits and added a musical touch to the celebration.
Community Gathering:
Sister Abena Agyemang, her children, and several guests joined the worship service. The church was filled with warmth and solidarity as everyone came together to honor mothers.
Men’s Fellowship Message:
“Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mothers in our church! Your love, strength, and unwavering faith inspire us all. May God’s blessings continue to shower upon you as you nurture and guide your families. Thank you for being the heart of our congregation.”
Appreciation and Celebration
The praise and worship team led a lively session, singing hymns and songs of gratitude. All the women in attendance were celebrated with cards, flowers, and chocolates, acknowledging their vital role in the Church.
As the sun streamed through the glass windows at the reception hall, the attendees felt a deep sense of connection and gratitude and will cherish this year’s Mother’s Day service for years to come.
