Ghana’s Roads Minister, Kwame Agbodza, has revealed that President Mahama is considering a major infrastructure project, the Tamale Outer Ring Road, aimed at boosting economic activities and improving traffic flow in and around Tamale. The project aligns with the President’s vision to develop better and lasting road infrastructure for Ghanaians.

During a courtesy call on the Overlord of Dagbon, Yaa Naa, at the Gbewa Palace, Minister Agbodza emphasized the project’s potential to transform the region. He also inspected key projects, including the Daka Bridge at Yendi, the Tamale-Yendi-Tatale road, and the construction of a 60m span Bailey Bridge at Wapuli on the Saboba road.

The Yaa Naa praised the government’s “Big Push” Initiative, describing it as a catalyst for national transformation. He encouraged Minister Agbodza to collaborate with stakeholders to ensure quality road infrastructure nationwide. Notably, the Minister made a personal donation of 500 bags of cement towards the construction of the new Gbewa Palace during his visit.

This development is part of the government’s broader infrastructure development plan, which includes constructing outer ring roads in major cities to ease traffic flow. Other cities slated for similar projects include Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi, Sunyani, and Techiman.
