Mtt 7:22-23- Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
Mtt 24v11 “in the last days, many false prophets shall arise and mislead many. ”

Introduction
The multiplication of false prophets is not news, especially in these days, which in my opinion points to the second coming of Christ.
The position of Jesus was that we allow all to grow together and on the day of harvest (judgement) goats will be separated from sheep, (patiently read Matthew 24 and 25).
My thoughts on the EXPOSÉ
- MIRACLES
I must state without equivocation that miracles do not validate the genuineness of a pastor, prophet, evangelist, apostle or teacher. Jesus said, Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles? ‘ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!(Mtt 7:22, read upto 29)
- The Purpose of Church
And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— (Eph 4:11-16).
Therefore, go to Church to seek to become like Christ and to know God for yourself and not for miracles. The quest for miracles will definitely lead many into places where abuse, deception and manipulation is the order of the day and Christ is not present.
- Deification
This essentially means the act of making someone or something into a god. Most churches do NOT have God but their pastors as gods. The pastor is revered and virtually worshipped than God Himself.
Any church where you fear and revere the pastor than God is a cult and not a church. Our duty as pastors is to point the flock to Jesus. He is the chief shepherd, we are His workers. Some practices in the name of honouring men of God have turned them into gods and we must be careful not to get Jesus out of the church. Let’s remember the church is Christ’s, He bought it with His precious blood, and He alone is deserving of our worship.
- Freedom
Any church where you don’t have liberty and too many laws are being given are enough red flags! Jesus did not liberate us to keep us in another form of bondage. Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” We are free from “the yoke of bondage.
Before you commit to any church observe and get a good understanding of their practices. As I watched how Disciples could not even leave the church premises I asked myself, where was common sense?
- Manipulation
Manipulation is witchcraft. Galatians 5v20, talks about the works of the flesh, and notably mentioned witchcraft-which the Passion Translation uses the word manipulation for witchcraft. Beware of manipulators. Being in church doesn’t mean our brains must go on recess, we must ask questions, probe issues to be sure you aren’t being manipulated into any bondage.
- Timing
I keep asking myself why now, because this documentary doesn’t help the image of the broader church. The world doesn’t know the difference between a good church and a fake or bad one. All the world knows is Christianity and I see this dissuading many from joining the body of Christ.
Conclusion
T.B. Joshua is dead and gone. No one can hear him now save what people are saying about him. Let’s all strive to do good so our good deeds can speak for us even when we’re dead and gone.
And to those of us who believe we’re doing something right for the Kingdom, let’s not be discouraged but be diligent and faithful shining bright the Light of the Gospel to a world so darkened.
Let us teach and disciple the flock of God in all purity knowing that God is not unjust to forget our labour of love wherein we labor.
