The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) has clarified that it has not declared a roadmap for industrial action, contrary to speculation. In a statement signed by President Dr. Frank Serebour, the GMA assured its members and the public that medical services will continue uninterrupted.

The association, however, expressed solidarity with Organized Labour in its fight against galamsey, a persistent issue affecting Ghana’s environment and public health.
The GMA’s National Executive Council (NEC) will provide further updates on the matter as necessary. This clarification comes amid growing concerns about the potential impact of industrial action on healthcare delivery.

By supporting the anti-galamsey campaign, the GMA reinforces its commitment to protecting public health and the environment. The association’s stance is crucial in addressing the devastating effects of illegal mining on Ghana’s water bodies, forests, and communities.
As the GMA continues to engage with stakeholders, its members are expected to maintain their dedication to providing quality healthcare services without disruption.
