The Progressive Coalition for Change and Accountability, a US-based pressure group, is calling for a decisive shift in leadership. We believe that it is utterly preposterous for Bawumia, who was initially tapped to lead the economic revival of this government, to now promise Ghanaians that he will resolve their problems if he comes to power. After leading the country into an economic mess, who in their right mind would trust Bawumia to lead the nation? Voters must compare their state of living during Mahama’s reign to that of Bawumia and Nana Addo and cast their votes wisely.
Elections worldwide serve as a mechanism to punish governments that have brought more hardship into people’s lives. This issue transcends party loyalty. If we don’t hold them accountable, what do you think they will do next? They will empty the nation’s coffers and create generational financial freedom for their families while throwing peanuts at the rest of us. The prudent thing to do is to take their campaign money and vote wisely.
They fear facing the law when they lose, and Ghanaians must ensure they answer for their arrogance and looting of our country. They must answer for polluting our waters and fleecing our coffers. They must answer for grabbing our lands for themselves and their families while leaving us homeless. They must answer for giving our retirees a haircut while securing their loot. They must account for their celebrations after the e-levy approval, all while taxing the meager funds we rely on to survive. They must answer for jailing peaceful protestors trying to stop the pollution they have caused. They are unscrupulous and unconscionable; otherwise, they wouldn’t tell us these gargantuan lies and expect us to believe them this time around.
Wake up, Ghana. We, the progressive forces in the USA, are endorsing Mahama because, through him, Ghana will be fixed. Through him, Ghana will have a 24-hour economy that will provide jobs for our people. Through him, we will see justice for the wrongs done by these nation looters. Through him, we will not be afraid to speak our minds. This election in Ghana calls for patriotism, not party politics as usual. We call on all Ghanaians, regardless of party affiliation, to look into their living conditions and kick Bawumia and his bunch of liars out.
