ACCRA – President John Dramani Mahama has officially relaunched the National Sanitation Day initiative, while publicly commending the ‘BuzstopBoys’ for their exceptional commitment to environmental cleanliness. During the relaunch event on Saturday, the President called the group “exemplary citizens” whose efforts deserve national recognition.

To support their ongoing work, particularly in Accra, President Mahama presented the ‘BuzstopBoys’ with a generous donation of sanitation tools. The donation included 200 wheelbarrows, 300 shovels, 300 brooms, 300 pairs of hand gloves, and a supply of standing brushes. The President said he first learned about the group on social media last year and was impressed by their dedication.

The relaunch of the National Sanitation Day marks a renewed national commitment to sanitation. The initiative will now be observed on the first Saturday of every month across all 16 regions and 261 metropolitan, municipal, and district assemblies.
