President John Dramani Mahama has reassured Ghanaians that Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is recovering well and remains in high spirits. Speaking at the launch of the government’s nationwide sanitary pad distribution initiative, President Mahama shared an update on the Vice President’s condition, saying she is recuperating and catching up on rest.
The Vice President’s health had become a public concern after she fell ill on March 28, 2025, and was admitted to the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) for medical attention. Following treatment, she began a three-week medical leave on April 7, 2025, to focus on her recovery and overall well-being. President Mahama conveyed the Vice President’s greetings and assured Ghanaians that she will soon rejoin the team to continue working on the reset agenda.
