In a bid to ensure the safety and security of the ongoing electoral exercises, the National Election Security Task Force (NESTF) led by the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, met with the Electoral Commission (EC) on July 8, 2024.

The meeting, chaired by EC Chairperson, Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensa, aimed to assess the security arrangements deployed so far. The NESTF and EC reviewed the security plans and strategies in place to prevent any potential threats or violence during the elections.

The meeting demonstrated the commitment of both organizations to ensuring the peaceful conduct of the elections. The police assured the EC of their readiness to provide adequate security for the electoral process, while the EC briefed the NESTF on their preparations and challenges.

This collaborative effort aims to guarantee a secure environment for voters, electoral officials, and all stakeholders involved in the electoral process. By working together, the NESTF and EC are determined to make the elections a success.
