A group of 320 Pharm.D House officers from the 2022 batch has appealed to Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to fulfill his promise and ensure the immediate disbursement of their outstanding allowances from the Ministry of Health.
The officers, who have been waiting for almost two years, claim that the unpaid allowances have caused them severe distress and prevented them from supporting themselves.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra, Dr. Jeremy Owusu Afrifa, representing the group, demanded that the Ministry of Health and Finance resolve the matter urgently. He emphasized the crucial role Pharm.D House officers play in Ghana’s healthcare system and called for a transparent and efficient system to prevent future delays.
The officers’ demands are not only for themselves but also for future healthcare professionals and citizens who rely on a functioning healthcare system. They urged the government to swiftly resolve the matter, hoping that Dr. Bawumia would fulfill his earlier promise.
