OSP Arrests GRA, SML, PPA Officials Over Corruption Allegations

The Office of the Special Prosecutor has arrested several current and former officials of the Ghana Revenue Authority, Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd, and the Public Procurement Authority over suspected corruption and related offences. The arrests are linked to revenue assurance contracts between GRA and SML.

Those arrested and detained include Rev. Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, former GRA Commissioner-General, Isaac Crentsil, former Customs Commissioner and now SML General Manager, and Christian Tetteh Sottie, former GRA Technical Advisor and current SML Managing Director. They were detained after failing to meet bail conditions.

Others were arrested and granted bail, including Evans Adusei, SML CEO, Philip Mensah, former GRA Deputy Commissioner (Legal) and current SML Legal Consultant, Kofi Nti, former GRA Commissioner-General, and two PPA officials, Joseph Kuruk and Faustina Adjorkor. The OSP’s investigation is examining the contracts awarded to SML, including claims of generating significant revenue savings for the state.
