The Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability(ASEPA) has conducted an assessment into which of the the political parties has worsened the plights of youth in Ghana .

ASEPA has discovered that the NPP under the leadership of president Akufo-Addo has far worsened plights and living conditions of most Ghanaian youth than H.E John Dramani Mahama.

Having assessed some of the promises made by the NPP government prior to the 2016 general elections, ASEPA has discovered that the promise of the One-District One-Factory(1D-1F) policy has ended up disappointing a chunk number of Ghanaian youth and have additionally relegated their hopes to the background.

Again , the brutal impact of the banking sector collapse has led not only to countless job losses , but also that of pressure on households and living conditions of the youth as hard earned funds have been locked up. Relative to the collapse GN Bank , UT Bank , Capital Bank , Beige Bank among other reputable banks , every Ghanaian can attest that over 70% of these employees who lost their jobs are youthful.

Having assessed the impact of what ASEPA can describe as ‘Poorly executed’ One-Village One-Dam policy on farmers of the Northern region , ASEPA has noted with great concern that the hopes of most unemployed graduates who look forward to utilising this policy to their advantage have been dashed into the thin air .

Additionally , the Planting for food and Jobs(PFJ) Policy seem not to be directly benefiting farmers and whose large population are youthful, but rather most core party members of the ruling government. The cases of countless missing fertilisers as well as the use of the $10 million expended during the Cocoa roads audit are examples.

In all, ASEPA can conclude that the NPP government under the leadership of president Akufo-Addo has immeasurably failed the Ghanaian youth and that also transpired during the defense of the recent figures provided by Dr. Mahamud Bawumiah in relation to the number of job opportunities created in which ASEPA has taken note of defense of these figures by the politically appointed Mr. Awal Mohammed who happens to be the director of communications for the Youth Employment Authority(YEA).

We are by this statement calling on the NPP to admit , and apologise on the eve of their manifesto launch in the Central region come Saturday August 22nd, 2020  for woefully failing the Ghanaian youth and subsequently step up efforts at building a youth-friendly Ghana. This ASEPA believes is the only way the NPP government can win back the hearts of Ghanaian youth .

We call on all well meaning Ghanaians and the media to bring nothing but the right analysis and outcome to the doorstep of the Ghanaian people .
