The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Council has given its stamp of approval to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s choice of Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) as his running mate for the upcoming elections. This endorsement follows earlier meetings with the National Executive Council and National Steering Committee.
NAPO, a medical doctor and Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, has been praised for his work as former Education Minister. His selection is seen as a strategic move to consolidate support within the party and across the country, particularly in the Ashanti region.
Born on May 23, 1968, in Ashanti New Town, NAPO hails from Pakyi No. 2 in the Ashanti Region. He has a strong educational background, having studied at KNUST, the Netherlands Institute of Health Sciences, and Harvard University. Prior to entering politics, NAPO served as CEO of Keyedmap Security Services Limited and worked as a medical doctor in the UK.
The endorsement of NAPO as Bawumia’s running mate solidifies the party’s unity and prepares the ground for a strong campaign in the upcoming elections.
