Accra, Ghana — A new chapter in Ghana’s energy evolution was officially set in motion yesterday as members of the Volta River Authority’s Governing Board were formally sworn in, following their appointment by H.E. President John Dramani Mahama.
The inauguration ceremony crackled with purpose and optimism. Taking the podium, the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, delivered a charge laden with both praise and expectation: “His Excellency the President has absolute confidence in your capabilities. You must lead VRA to champion reforms in Ghana’s power sector.”
At the helm of the new board is Ing. Jabesh Amissah-Arthur, a seasoned engineer and strategic thinker, who pledged to galvanize the Authority’s legacy while blazing new trails in regional energy leadership. “We are determined to reposition the VRA as the premier power generator in the sub-region,” he affirmed, signaling a bold ambition for the agency.
