
In a ceremony held at the Jubilee House on Friday, March 14, Christian Tetteh Yohuno was officially sworn in as the new Inspector General of Police (IGP). Presided over by President John Dramani Mahama, the event marked the beginning of a new era in Ghana’s policing.
In his acceptance speech, IGP Yohuno pledged to uphold the values and traditions of the Ghana Police Service, emphasizing his dedication to professionalism, transparency, accountability, and fairness. He outlined his vision to modernize the service while maintaining the traditions that have defined the Ghana Police Service for generations.
IGP Yohuno assured the President, government officials, and the Ghanaian public that his leadership would be characterized by discipline, respect for seniority, and an unwavering commitment to service delivery. He emphasized that his administration would focus on renewing attitudes and performance, guided by the principles of discipline and respect for seniority.
As the new IGP, Christian Tetteh Yohuno takes the reins of an institution with a rich history and a mandate to deliver services in crime prevention, detection, and prosecution. With his pledge to uphold the values and traditions of the Ghana Police Service, IGP Yohuno aims to reinforce the integrity and professionalism of the force, ensuring that it remains a trusted and respected institution in Ghanaian society.
