The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reiterated its commitment to launching a Women’s Development Bank aimed at empowering female entrepreneurs if the party is elected into office. This pledge was reaffirmed by the party’s running mate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, during the NDC’s manifesto launch held on Saturday, August 24, in Winneba, Central Region.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang highlighted that the Women’s Development Bank would address the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs in accessing financial support. She stressed that the initiative would focus on creating job opportunities, lowering financial barriers, and boosting the growth of women-owned businesses.
“The Women’s Development Bank will provide low-interest loans, financial education, and sustainable support to female entrepreneurs and small business owners, helping them overcome the financial challenges they face,” Prof. Opoku-Agyemang stated.
She further elaborated that the bank would offer additional support, including advisory services and low-interest loans, to ensure the success and expansion of women-led businesses. This initiative, she noted, would also reduce the harassment women often encounter when seeking loans, ultimately contributing to their economic empowerment and business sustainability.
