Accra, Ghana – The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has outlined its policy plans for the education sector, should they win the December 7 elections. At a media conference, Dr. Clement Apaak, Member of Parliament for Builsa South and spokesperson on education, unveiled the party’s comprehensive education strategy.
The approach focuses on providing essential amenities to enhance accessibility and impact, from elementary to tertiary levels. Key initiatives include introducing a Start Smart curriculum, prioritizing teacher welfare, and providing financial support for teachers to own cars and homes.
Dr. Apaak emphasized the NDC’s commitment to a holistic education reform, ensuring that Ghana’s education system is equipped to meet the needs of the 21st century. The party’s strategy aims to integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), coding, digital literacy, and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) into the basic school curriculum.
The NDC’s education plan is part of its broader manifesto, which sectoral spokespersons are currently promoting through media engagements. The party is confident that its comprehensive approach will transform Ghana’s education sector and provide a solid foundation for the country’s future development.
