The National Anti-Illegal Mining Operation Secretariat (NAIMOS) Task Force has continued its efforts to combat illegal mining in the Bole/Bamboi area, targeting illicit mining sites and companies engaged in galamsey activities. On July 25, 2025, the task force visited a company following the arrest of 11 Chinese nationals the previous day, seizing a range of equipment and items.

Among the confiscated equipment were four Shacman tipper trucks (GT 7048-25, GT 7035-25, GT 7265-25, GT 7243-25), a bulldozer (GT 5321-25), a low bed (GT 1128-21), and a Forland small truck. Additionally, ten drums of engine oil, 28 assorted Richlion tires, and several motorbikes were seized. All seized items have been transported to NAIMOS headquarters in Accra by hired drivers, where they will be held pending further instructions and actions.

The NAIMOS Task Force is maintaining ongoing swoops at galamsey sites throughout the region, underscoring its commitment to addressing the severe environmental and social consequences of illegal mining. These operations are designed to safeguard Ghana’s natural resources and ensure accountability for those involved in galamsey.

The task force’s sustained efforts in Bole/Bamboi represent a crucial stride in disrupting illegal mining operations and promoting sustainable practices.
