The President of the Council of Ghanaian Churches in Chicago , Reverend Dr. Kofi Noonoo, has issued a statement on the passing of Alhaji Suleman Giwa, former Sarki , Chief, of the Haske Society of Chicago. We reproduce the statement of the group below .
I have known the late Alhaji Sarki Suleman Giwa for the past 25 years. We normally met during the GhanaFest®️ celebration. As I reflect on his life, I vividly remember him during the horse ride with the Haske Association. I saw him as an able, calm, caring, compassionate, levelheaded leader. He also has the ability to work with all ethnic groups and different religious backgrounds. As the President of the Council of Ghanaian churches, we extend our deepest condolences to the immediate family, friends, and the entire Muslim community. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
