Mahama Unveils First Batch of Ministerial Nominees

President John Dramani Mahama has announced his first set of ministerial nominations, marking a significant milestone in his administration. The nominees, who will oversee key sectors, were selected in accordance with Article 78 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.

Leading the pack is Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, a renowned economist and chartered accountant, who has been nominated as Minister for Finance Designate. With a PhD in Finance from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and extensive experience in public finance, macroeconomics, and fiscal policy, Dr. Forson is well-equipped to steer Ghana’s economy towards growth and stability.

Next is John Abdulai Jinapor, who brings a wealth of hands-on experience to the energy portfolio. As Minister for Energy Designate, Jinapor is expected to leverage his expertise in energy economics and finance to transform the sector and ensure a reliable energy supply for Ghanaians.

Rounding out the trio is Hon. Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, a seasoned lawyer with three decades of experience. As Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Designate, Ayine will draw on his vast knowledge of the law to promote justice, equality, and human rights in Ghana.

These nominations underscore President Mahama’s commitment to assembling a team of highly qualified and experienced individuals to drive Ghana’s development agenda. The nominees will now await parliamentary approval before assuming their respective roles.
