Accra, Ghana – President John Dramani Mahama on Wednesday hosted the leadership of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) for a courtesy call, assuring them of his commitment to prioritizing the welfare and professional development of teachers.
During the meeting, ideas were exchanged on critical issues affecting educators. Mahama commended GNAT for their invaluable insights and dedication to the teaching profession, expressing gratitude for their relentless efforts in shaping the nation’s future and acknowledging the association’s significant investments.
He further assured the GNAT leadership of his unwavering commitment and that of his government, should he be in power, to enhance the working and living conditions of all teachers. Mahama emphasized that teachers form the bedrock of Ghana’s education system and are essential partners in nation-building, highlighting that providing them with fair compensation, conducive working environments, and professional growth opportunities is a fundamental necessity for national progress.
