Mrs. Elizabeth Fosu-Adiare, the Minister-designate for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industries, has thrown her weight behind the National Democratic Congress’ “Made in Ghana” agenda. During her vetting on January 22, 2025, she emphasized her commitment to reducing importation and boosting local production, highlighting the importance of consuming locally grown food as a key strategy to cut down on foreign imports.
“If we eat what we grow, our imports will reduce,” she stated, encouraging Ghanaians to support the initiative by patronizing locally made goods. Fosu-Adiare’s pledge is not just a verbal commitment; she has a proven track record of promoting Ghanaian products. As the former Minister of Tourism, she championed the promotion of local goods, inviting industry players to showcase Ghanaian products to both local and international audiences.
Her efforts aim to reduce Ghana’s reliance on imported goods, which will not only boost the local economy but also promote national pride. By supporting the “Made in Ghana” agenda, Fosu-Adiare hopes to create a culture of patronizing locally made goods, ultimately benefiting Ghanaian businesses and the economy as a whole.
