In a shocking display of disregard for law enforcement, Honorable Afenyo Markin was caught on camera glaringly slapping a police officer in public. This brazen act, witnessed by many, was not just a violation of protocol but a direct assault on the dignity of those tasked with upholding law and order in Ghana.

Yet, despite the glaring evidence, the response from the authorities remains unsettlingly muted. If this assault had been committed by an ordinary Ghanaian, would the Ghana Police have hesitated in their pursuit of justice? Would this case have been handled differently? The silence speaks louder than words.

The Inspector General of Police and the CID boss must recognize the gravity of this situation. This is no longer just an isolated incident; it has escalated into a matter of national concern. Ghanaians demand accountability, and they are watching closely.

If we all agree that the law is the law, then it must be enforced without bias, without hesitation, and without exception. Justice is not a privilege reserved for the powerful.

If the law truly functions as it should, Honorable Afenyo Markin must face charges and prosecution—swiftly, decisively, and without excuses.
