The Interior Ministry has lifted the curfews imposed on Saboba and Bimbilla in the Northern Region. This decision was made on the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council and is a result of the desire of the Chiefs and people to maintain peace in the area.
The lifting of the curfews is also due to the improvement in the security situation. The government has expressed gratitude to the Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and people of the area for their efforts.
The communities of Saboba and Bimbilla had been under curfew due to security concerns. The Interior Ministry imposed a curfew on Saboba Township and its environs, restricting movement. A curfew was also imposed on Bimbilla Township, with restrictions in place.
With the curfews now lifted, the government is urging the local communities to continue to resolve their problems peacefully. This development is a step towards maintaining peace in the region.
