Chicago, IL : November 16, 2025 – The Ghanaian community in Chicago and its metropolis joins friends and family of the Ampadu family in mourning the passing of Thaddeus Banahene Ampadu.

Thaddeus, a cherished husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend, departed this life on November 16, 2025, at the age of just 26. His loss leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Born on March 9, 1999, Thaddeus lived a life filled with love, laughter, and kindness. His gentle spirit and warm presence touched all who knew him. Raised by his devoted parents, Michael and Rose Ampadu, he shared a close bond with his siblings, David Ampadu and Sarah (Eric) Lyons. He found true love with his wife, Francesca, and was embraced by her family, including his mother-in-law, Frances Luciano, and brother-in-law, Vincent Zarate. As Uncle Thaddeus to Ely and Ery Lyons, he brought joy and affection into their lives.

Thaddeus’s passions reflected his character. On the football field, he exemplified teamwork, encouragement, and sportsmanship. In music, he found comfort and expression, weaving melodies into the fabric of his life’s most meaningful moments. Known for his humor, empathy, and compassionate heart, he had a gift for making others feel supported and understood. His belief in kindness shaped his relationships and left a lasting impact on countless lives.

Though his time was far too short, Thaddeus lived with purpose and love, inspiring those around him. His memory will be honored in the stories shared, the music he cherished, and every game played with the joy he carried so effortlessly.

Funeral Arrangements
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Brady-Gill Funeral Home, 16600 Oak Park Ave., Tinley Park, IL 60477. Burial will immediately follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 200 W. Romeo Rd., Romeoville, IL.
