Hogbetsotso 2025: Anlo Dukor Council and Ghana Exim Bank Unveil a Historic Celebration of Unity and Heritage

Anloga, Ghana — The Anlo Dukor Council, in proud collaboration with Ghana Exim Bank, has officially launched the 2025 edition of Hogbetsotso under the stirring theme: “Building Bridges: From Common History to a Common Destiny.” This year’s festival promises a sweeping celebration of Ewe heritage, reconciliation, and forward-looking development, blending tradition with innovation across a vibrant week of activities.

From the sacred rites of Nugbuidodo to the electrifying Agbadza Street Carnival, the program reflects the spiritual depth, cultural richness, and communal aspirations of the Anlo people. The festival spans multiple towns and venues, drawing thousands of celebrants, dignitaries, and diaspora guests into a shared journey of remembrance and renewal.

Festival Highlights: A Journey Through Time and Spirit

  • October 25 – Mini Hogbe Launch
    Venue: Adidome | Time: 10:00 AM
    The ceremonial curtain rises with a symbolic launch in Adidome, setting the tone for a festival rooted in ancestral memory and modern unity.
  • October 29 – Children’s Durbar & Cultural Activities
    Across Anlo Dukor | From 8:00 AM
    Youth take center stage in a colorful durbar, followed by a spirited quiz competition in Keta and Anloga at 11:00 AM. At dawn, communities from Fuveme to Keta will reenact the ancient art of communal net casting—a tribute to ancestral livelihoods.
  • October 30 – Nugbuidodo Reconciliation Rites
    Agorwowornu, Anloga | 7:00 AM
    A sacred moment of healing and unity, followed by the Unity Concert at 6:00 PM and the Agbadza Street Carnival & Procession from Atorkor to Hogbe Park at 4:00 PM.
  • October 31 – A Day of Reflection and Celebration• Health Walk from Jubilee Radio, Keta at 5:00 AM
  • Awoamefia Sitting in State at Woe, 9:00 AM
