Message from the Council of Ghanaian Churches
The passing of Alhaji Suleman Giwa, Sarki ( Chief) of Haske Society of Chicago, was announced on social media platforms in the Ghanaian Community here yesterday, July 4 , 2021. Sources close to the family indicate that the late chief has been ill for quite a while. The President of the Ghana National Council, GNC, Emmanuel Kwasi Sam, expressed shock and disbelieve upon hearing the news. Paa Kwasi informed our reporter that the late chief was a humble and peaceful man who always seeks to bring people together. “He promoted our culture and heritage by his continued participation in Ghanafest and other activities organized by the GNC until his death. He will be sorely missed”, Paa Kwasi Sam concluded.
The statement below was released by the family and the Haske Society .
