Chicago , June 2, 2024 : On a serene mid-Sunday , the entire congregation of the Church of the Ghanaian Community of Chicago , gathered to express their gratitude and celebrate the remarkable life of Onukpa Edmund Addoquaye at a special Thanksgiving Service . Since the deceased was the father of our esteemed President, Evelyn Tetteh, and the beloved grandfather of Andrew and Charles, Onukpa Edmund’s legacy resonated deeply within our community .

The occasion was doubly special, as it coincided with our communion service for the month of June. The sacred act of communion brought us together, reinforcing our bonds of faith and unity.
But that wasn’t all! We witnessed heartfelt thanksgiving from two remarkable graduates: Emmanuel Betson Jr. and Charis Betson. Their achievements were celebrated, and we rejoiced in their accomplishments.
Rev. and Mrs. Kwesi Yeboah also shared their joy with the congregation. Their new grandchild had entered the world, and we collectively offered prayers of blessing and protection for the little one.
And then, a moment that bridged continents: Rev. Dr. Apostle Bright Sosu conveyed warm greetings from Ghana. His presence reminded us that our faith transcends borders, connecting us across oceans and cultures.
The central message of the service was beautifully encapsulated in the Theme, “In Everything, Give Thanks.” We reflected on life’s blessings, challenges, and the unwavering love of our Creator.
As we celebrate life, we also mark birthdays within our church community. This week, we raise our voices in joyous celebration for Brother Andrew Tetteh , Elder Susan Bamfo and Sister Peace Darko. May their days be filled with happiness and purpose.
May our hearts continue to overflow with thanksgiving, and may our community thrive in peace and progress.
Looking ahead, we invite everyone to join us online ( Call in # 267-807-9605 ; code 925854# ) for our Prayer and Bible study service this Tuesday at 8 pm. Let us continue to seek wisdom, understanding, and spiritual growth together.
And now, as always, here are some delightful pictures from the event. Let these images capture the spirit of gratitude, fellowship, and love that enveloped our gathering.
