The government has cancelled two transactions initiated by the previous administration to sell Ghanaian diplomatic properties in Nigeria and Zambia. Foreign Minister Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa made the announcement in Parliament, revealing that the decision was made with the backing of President Mahama.

The Minister said the government will retrieve a part payment made in one of the transactions. Those responsible for the transaction, who are currently on the run, will be found and sanctioned.

Minister Ablakwa said all Ghanaian diplomatic properties, both within the country and abroad, are not for sale. The government’s decision is guided by the principles of the national interest.

The cancellation of the transactions and the retrieval of payments demonstrate the government’s commitment to protecting Ghana’s assets and upholding the law. As Minister Ablakwa said, “For God and Country.”
