A new market is set to be built in Gomoa Asebu, marking the first step towards relocating the old market to make way for a dual carriageway and West Africa’s biggest wholesale mall. Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as Kwame A Plus, disclosed this on his social media platforms on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

The project, expected to transform Gomoa Central into a dynamic commercial hub, will also include the sale of apartments and commercial spaces. The area’s strategic location, with proximity to the University of Education in Winneba, Perez University, and the Pan African Heritage Museum, makes it an attractive investment opportunity.

The new Accra-Cape Coast Highway will also make it easier to live in Gomoa Central and work in Accra. The project is part of a larger vision to create a 24-Hour Business District in Gomoa Central, which will be a hub for trade, tourism, education, commerce, and more. The initiative is backed by H.E. John Dramani Mahama’s Big Push program, which aims to support entrepreneurs and investors.

The project is expected to boost economic activity in the region, create jobs, and provide a platform for local businesses to thrive. With its unique blend of natural resources, strategic location, and government support, Gomoa Central is poised to become a major economic hub in Ghana.
