Groupe Nduom Bank, GN Bank, appreciates its customers for contributing to the success, growth, and sustainability of the only black-owned commercial bank in the Midwest of the United States yearly except the previous two years due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The astute banker and businessman, Dr. Nduom, bought a distressed Illinois Service Federal Savings and Loan (ISF) and turned it into a profitable institution.
The downscaled event was held at 4619 South Martin Luther King Drive, Chicago, Illinois on Thursday, October 20, 2022. There were about 60 loyal customers in attendance. Prominent members of the Ghanaian community present are Kasim Abubakari, Vice President of the Ghana National Council, GNC, and aspiring Presidential candidate; John Abbayea, former VP, GNC, and friend of the Nduom family; businessmen Peter Osei and Godfred Yeboah; Mr.Steve Dei, organizing secretary of the GNC and former president of the Ewe Association, Evelyn Tetteh, President of the Church of the Ghanaian Community, COGCC, Chicago; Rosemary Amegashie, former president of the COGCC; Sally Owusu, elder, COGCC, Frederica Buckman, former president of Ga-Dangme community organization and others.
Dr. Nduom used the occasion to introduce the new Chief Operations Officer of the Bank, Mr. Brendan Healy, and others. In the comfort of customers’ own homes or spare time, they can browse for products the bank offers online.
Dr. Ndoum generally addressed some of the issues that plagued the bank recently. He assured all customers and the community that the bank is here to stay and has many products to meet the needs of its diverse customers. “We just don’t want to be known as a black-owned bank; we want to be known as the best bank,” he reassured his clientele. He pleaded with the Ghanaian and other communities to support the bank by establishing all their accounts with the bank. He stated that the bank has sound capital, good liquidity, and money to lend. If you want to buy a house, car, household appliances, gadgets, etc., or need a loan for your business expenses, please contact GN bank to compare your options.
Mr. Brendan Healy assured the audience that loans and credits would be available to businesses and individual needs. The bank will also enroll in new programs to assist college graduates in the management of their finances. “If you have bad credit or need to build or rebuild your credit history with the three reporting agencies, the bank is there to assist you”, he pointed out.
One of the longtime employees of the bank, Ms. Fallon Wells, explained that customer appreciation and other programs did not take place in the past two years because of the COVID-19 Pandemic. “At GN Bank, customer service and satisfaction are our primary interests. The bank not only believes that providing prompt and efficient service is essential but also acknowledges our customers’ right to complain. We welcome your complaints as valuable feedback to improve our services and products.” Ms. Fallon Wells concluded.
Ms. Mariah Henderson also appealed to all to ask their friends and family to come and open an account at the bank.
The customers were allowed to interact with top managers and share concerns which will help improve banking services.
The event ended with food, soft drinks, and merriment.
