Hearts of Oak on Sunday evening returned to winning ways in the Ghana Premier League when the side posted a delightful 2-0 win over King Faisal at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Phobians last weekend played as a guest to Dreams FC at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu but unfortunately suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of the matchday 22 opponent.
Returning home to host King Faisal on matchday 23 of the 2020/2021 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign today, Hearts of Oak have bounced back to keep hopes of winning the league title alive.
In an exciting contest between the two teams, skillful attacker Kwadwo Obeng Jnr scored from close range in the 57th minute to shoot the host into a deserved lead on the back of a goalless draw from the first half.
Later in the 88th minute, substitute Daniel Barnieh Afriyie equalized after latching onto a pass from winger Patrick Razak to seal a crucial 2-0 win for Hearts of Oak against King Faisal.
Today’s three points mean that the Phobians climb to fourth on the Ghana Premier League table and just four points behind league leaders Asante Kotoko.
