Hearts of Oak on Sunday afternoon dominated play against Asante Kotoko in their matchday 31 fixture of the Ghana Premier League as the team marched to an important 1-0 win.
The two teams since the commencement of the second round of the 2020/2021 Ghanaian top-flight league have excelled and as a result, have been the favourites to win the league title.
Locking horns at the Accra Sports Stadium today, both teams had all to play for knowing that a win would give either side a huge advantage to take into the final three matches of the season.
On the matchday played in front of a little over 9,000 spectators, Hearts of Oak appeared to be the better side throughout the 90 minutes and deservedly run away with all points.
In the game, in-form winger Daniel Afriyie Barnieh netted the only goal in the 67th minute to shoot Hearts of Oak into the lead and en route to beating Asante Kotoko 1-0.
Courtesy of today’s Super Clash win, the Phobians have opened a three-point gap over Asante Kotoko at the top of the Ghana Premier League table.
