The partnership, which began on November 3, has enabled the Centre’s staff to enhance their skills in pediatric cardiac care, bringing their expertise closer to international standards. The surgeries included five open-heart and 22 minimally invasive ‘keyhole’ procedures, primarily for children under six kilograms.

The joint effort was funded by Kinderherzen and the Gerald Asamoah Foundation, contributing approximately €250,000, while the National Cardiothoracic Centre invested $80,000 in equipment upgrades. Additional sponsors supported patient care.

The Centre plans to expand pediatric cardiac procedures to help more children in need, improving healthcare access and outcomes in Ghana.
