Ghana’s path to economic recovery may be challenging, but the Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC) remains optimistic about the country’s growth prospects. According to Yofi Grant, CEO of GIPC, investments may fluctuate quarterly, but the overall trend indicates year-on-year growth. This positive outlook is backed by the Center’s efforts to attract high-quality, sustainable investments.
The GIPC is actively fostering international partnerships and advancing Ghana’s investment landscape through strategic initiatives. Recently, the Center signed a memorandum of understanding with the Kenya Investment Authority to promote investment facilitation and organized a CEO’s breakfast meeting to discuss government policies and regulatory reforms in the tourism sector. This meeting aimed to enhance private sector participation in tourism infrastructure development.
GIPC views itself as a key partner in accelerating economic growth and is committed to enhancing Ghana’s global market presence through innovative investment promotion strategies. The Center’s efforts are already yielding results, with 69 registered projects attracting $179.07 million in foreign direct investments (FDIs) in the first half of 2024. These investments are expected to generate 8,524 jobs across sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism.
Additionally, 20 wholly Ghanaian projects were registered with an estimated value of $476.69 million, demonstrating the country’s potential for growth and development. With GIPC’s continued support, Ghana is poised for economic recovery and sustainable growth.
