
The Ghanaian music community is in mourning following the death of legendary highlife musician Daddy Lumba on July 26, 2025. Fellow musicians Nana Acheampong and Kojo Antwi have paid heartfelt tributes to the late music icon.

Nana Acheampong, who collaborated with Daddy Lumba as part of the Lumba Brothers, expressed his grief in a heartfelt online tribute, questioning the sudden loss of his longtime friend and musical partner. “Menua Kojo Fosu, why this shock?” he lamented, highlighting the deep bond and mutual respect between the two artists.
Kojo Antwi visited Daddy Lumba’s family to offer condolences, describing the loss as a moment of sadness and heartbreak. He reflected on Daddy Lumba’s significant contribution to Ghanaian music and culture, expressing confidence that his legacy will never be forgotten. Kojo Antwi extended his condolences to the bereaved family, the music and tourism fraternity, and fans worldwide.
The music community continues to pay tribute to Daddy Lumba, with a condolence book opened at his East Legon residence in Accra. Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced in the coming days, as fans and fellow musicians mourn the loss of a national treasure.
