The Ghanaian community of Chicago gathered at 5500 South Woodlawn, Chicago, Illinois, to celebrate the first Sunday and communion service of 2025. This event was a moment of reassurance and profound impact, as the congregation united under the powerful symbol of the blood of Jesus, marking them for a blessed year ahead and fortifying their faith to overcome every obstacle this year.
In alignment with the theme for the Year, “Our Year of Destiny,” today’s message focused on “How To Know Your Destiny,” drawing inspiration from Romans 9:10-14 and Genesis 25:19-26. The sermon ignited a sense of purpose and hope within the hearts of the attendees, urging them to embrace their divine destinies with renewed vigor and clarity.
The service was not only a time for spiritual nourishment but also a moment to uplift and support one another through collective prayer. The following prayer points were emphasized:
- Pray for God to reveal your Destiny to you.
- Pray for Dr. Ndum’s banking business in Ghana and the businesses of all our members.
- Pray for the sick and the recovering (Ms. Emma Dennis, Rev. Yeboah, Mrs. Betson, and others).
- Pray for all our students returning home.
- Pray for our church to grow and acquire our building soon.
- Pray for our children.
- Thank God for all He did for us last year.
- Pray for the protection and prosperity of all our members living in Ghana and those about to travel to Ghana in the days and weeks ahead.
- Pray for the peace and prosperity of the USA and Ghana.
The communion service concluded with a message of unity and hope, encapsulating the spirit of community and the shared journey towards a fulfilling and divine destiny. The congregation left the service with hearts full of gratitude, faith, and anticipation for the blessings of the year to come.
