Ghana’s Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has inaugurated the Ghana National Surgical, Obstetric, and Anesthesia Plan (NSOAP) Implementation Steering Committee. This committee brings together experts, policymakers, healthcare professionals, and partners to oversee the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of Ghana’s NSOAP.
The NSOAP is designed to strengthen care in Ghana, ensuring that services are incorporated into the country’s health coverage strategy. This plan aims to reduce mortality, manage trauma cases, and strengthen care services throughout the country.
During the inauguration ceremony, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh emphasized the committee’s role in providing direction and coordinating efforts to achieve the plan’s objectives. He urged committee members to approach their responsibility with commitment.
John Nkrumah Mills, Chairman of the Committee, reassured the Minister that with the support of partners, resources, and cooperation from stakeholders, the committee would achieve health care in the country. He pledged the committee’s dedication to delivering on its mandate and ensuring care management in Ghana.
The success of the NSOAP will strengthen Ghana’s healthcare system and save lives, ensuring that every Ghanaian has access to care, regardless of location or status. With the committee’s commitment, Ghana is poised to make strides in healthcare, providing a future for its citizens.
