The Ghana Police Service has reassured citizens of its preparedness to maintain peace throughout the December 7 general elections. COP Daniel Kwame Afriyie, representing the Inspector General of Police, emphasized the shared responsibility of ensuring peace and urged the public to play their part.
At a Peace Prayer Concert, Afriyie advised youth to avoid violence and prioritize societal well-being. He stressed that elections should focus on ideas, not fear and panic. The police will secure polling centers, electoral commission offices, and maintain regular policing duties.
Other officials, including the Greater Accra Regional EC Director and Director of Army Religious Affairs, echoed the importance of peace, vigilance, and calm celebrations. They urged citizens to prioritize their future and eschew violence.
