Accra, Ghana – Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has announced a series of significant agreements forged during his recent working visit to Morocco, poised to deepen bilateral relations and foster mutual development.
Among the key outcomes, Ghana will see a doubling of scholarships for its students in Morocco, increasing the annual intake from 70 to 140. In a major boost for agricultural productivity, Morocco has committed to providing a free donation of 2,000 tonnes of fertilizers to Ghanaian farmers and will offer technical support for the construction of a modern fertilizer manufacturing plant in Ghana.
Aviation training is also set to benefit, with Ghanaian youth gaining access to Morocco’s prestigious pilot training academy as part of President Mahama’s efforts to revive Ghana Airways.
The educational exchange extends further, as Moroccan youth will pursue courses at Ghana’s Maritime University and other higher education institutions.
Looking ahead, a grand business forum is scheduled for October 2025 in Morocco, designed to facilitate collaborations between Ghanaian and Moroccan companies.
The visit also identified priority projects in critical sectors including sea port expansion, railway development, textile production, and pharmaceuticals, signaling a robust agenda for future cooperation.
